The Company

We are Lawson H.I.S. Ltd., and consider ourselves to be the area's leading independent distributor of industrial products. Our main product ranges are: hand and power tools, abrasives, welding products, janitorial products, lubricants, protective clothing, corporate and casual clothing, fasteners, storage equipment, adhesive tapes and paint. We offer a one-stop- shop daily delivery service to central southern England and by over-night carrier to national customers.

The Job

Initially offered on a 6-month temporary contract, you will assist in all stores duties including:

• Receiving deliveries
• Labelling products
• Putting goods away
• Stock checking
• Keeping the stores area clean and tidy
• Some heavy lifting, occasionally up to 25 kgs
• Holders of Full Driving License aged over 25 may also be asked to cover relief van driver duties

Qualifications

The succesful applicant will be motivated and friendly. Good written and spoken English are essential, as well as basic IT skills as we utilise a bespoke stock control and dispatch system.

The Future

The position is, initially, a six month temporary contract to cover a temporary staff shortage but it is more than likely that the right person would have the contract amended to permanent.
Many of our staff have been with the company for several years and have been promoted internally. There is nearly always the opportunity for betterment.

The Hours

8:00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. 40 hour week with one 

The Reward

The standard rate is £7.20 per hour. A bonus scheme is currently in place for all employees who have completed 6 months of employment, and our staff purchase scheme makes available our range of products at cost price.
